Derry Ladies v Carn (Semi-Final Cup)

Well it just wasnt our night I guess. It wasn't the best performance we just let the occasion get to us. We were beat 2-0 by a strong Carn side.

Carn pressed well and all credit to them they took chances. We didn't press the ball as well as we're capable of. However we will take this on the chin and learn from it. We lost Deborah McLaughlin early on in the game and she has cartilage problems and sprained ligaments ooch! She is going to be out now for approx 7-8 weeks, a massive loss to us.

Player of the match, and I hope everyone agrees, would be Joanne Devine. She was a sweeper at the back and was fantastic to say the least. She perservered through a horrible challenge that was made on her and put in a strong performance not only tonight but all season.

So far we have had a great season. We're gonna hold our heads high this season as I believe everyone has made a good effort.

Brilliant girls. KEEP IT UP!!!!

We could not have done it this season without the help and support of Eddie, Paul and towards the end of the season Adrian. Thanks a million we really do appreciate everything you have done for us.

Derry City Ladies v Cockhill

I believe this was a competitive match. Derry came out on top and secured another 3 vital points.

Well done. Final score Derry ladies 2 Cockhill 0

Derry City Ladies v Glengad

A great result beating Glengad 2-1.

Derry City Ladies v Culdaff

Well this is our 4th win of the season.

Yes it's true back to good form on Thursday night we went out in good spirits and beat culdaff 6-0.

Everyone did the job they were asked to and did it well. Leigh wasn't put off by the fact that she was wearing number 13, in fact she scored 3 goals!!!!!! Caoimhe was back in the side and definately made a difference in midfield passing the ball effectively and even narrowly missing out in some goal action herself.

WELL DONE LADIES KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 4 matches remain...........lets do it!!!

Derry City ladies V Illies

Well first and foremost what a match!!. The first half saw a lot of free kicks pushing shoving and even a yellow card to Colleen Boyle.

The second half was like watching a different match. Derry were strong, had control, played Illies off the park, even missed a few good opportunities. Meanwhile Illies started to crack under the pressure.

The main star of the second half I am sure you all agree was Sarah Doherty playing on the right. Illies did not know what was happening. Sarah went bravely into every tackle, hustled, passed and even scrambled around Illies goal and scored.
Final score 2-1.

Derry City Ladies V QPS

Its getting a little old now but yet again too many senior players missing. At  the minute if it isn't for the younger girls we would not be able to field a team.

Well back to the match. We were full of confidence coming off at half time. That team were not great they just showed a lot more character. We had more "incidents" on the field, Claudine was shown a red card for misconduct (she elbowed the forward).

We need a lot more discipline on and off the field!!!! Final score 4-1 to QPS. This simply isnt good enough. We need to show a bigger effort to get to training and games..........EVERYONE!!!!!
